How long does it take to create a website?

The length of time it takes to create a fully functional website is based on several factors. Custom design work can take anywhere from 1 – 4 weeks, depending on the complexity of the design and the number of revisions you require. The development phase requires an additional 1 – 6 weeks, depending on the number of pages, and the functionality required. Of course, these are general guidelines, and we will make every effort to meet the time frame you have in mind.

How much does a website cost?

The cost of a website can vary depending on various factors, just like the cost of a house may vary. Though our website projects generally start in the $5,000 range for basic business sites and range upward depending on your unique needs.

How does the payment process work?

The project starts with a 50% deposit. After design sign off and before we move into programming, we collect 25%. Once we have completed and fulfilled our scope, the final 25% is collected and your website is then scheduled for launch.

What kind of technology do you support?

We specialize in XHTML, CSS and Flash, but are very experienced with JavaScript, DHTML, XML, PHP, and others. Although it’s unlikely, if there’s something we can’t do, we can reach out to our network of partners for additional services (at no additional cost to you).

Can I see my website while it’s in progress?

Absolutely! In fact, we encourage it. We build your website on our development server, and provide you with a username and password so that you can log in and monitor the progress of your site. During this phase, we encourage your feedback if something isn’t quite the way you envisioned it or if you’ve changed your mind. Once your site is ready and you have provided your approval, we release it live on your server and submit your URL to the major search engines.

How many changes can I make to my site without additional cost?

We give as much latitude as we possibly can. After you’ve identified the general format and color schemes of your preferred design, we’ll complete up to 2 rounds of major revisions at no charge. All minor revisions are provided at no charge.

Are any other services included in your web design and development costs?

Yes. Our web design and development service includes configuration of your email accounts, detailed monthly traffic reports and basic search engine optimization services. Basic SEO includes submission of your site to the major search engines, and the setup of your primary metatag information (Page Title, Description and Keywords). Additionally, your site is built from the ground up with search engine friendly technologies and methods.

Do I own my website?

YES! Everything that we build will be 100% owned by you. Most of our clients stay with us for the life of the website. Our team is just irresistible that way. But if for any reason you decide you want to take your site to another hosting service and get another company to service the site, we will happily assist you in making the transition as effortlessly and efficiently as possible. The website is yours after all, and we want you to take it wherever you go.

I need some changes on my Web site or template. Do you provide that service?

Yes! For one time changes, we will provide you with an estimate before beginning the work and charge at our standard hourly rate. If you anticipate regular needs for maintenance, one of our Ongoing Maintenance Plans may be more cost-effective for you.

How does online payment work?

We would expect the system to run itself, including adding payment authorisation codes into the customer order details in your administration system. As such, orders are not sent to despatch until confirmation of a successful payment has been made. Naturally some payments will fail so our reminder system makes sure these are followed up and converted into successful orders.

Can customers Search for the features and colours of my Products?

In our Silver eCommerce package we offer 3 search criteria attributes e.g. colour, size and make. For the Gold eCommerce package we can offer an extensive Search Facility on your Home page with customisable search refinements, to a maximum of 8 search options. For Bespoke customers it will depend on their requirements.

How do I get paid online?

There are many options for accepting online payments, including: Paypal/ credit card/debit card on-line facilities, Google Checkout, World Pay. We will advise on which option will best suit your requirements.

Can I have a Shopping Trolley / Basket on my site?

Yes, of course – this will be designed in line with your branding. Customers will be able to seamlessly update, amend, delete from or add to their baskets, and continue shopping as desired. Customers could save their order at any point of their visit to your site. Talk to us to see what we recommend to improve the user shopping experience.

Will my site be able to handle exchanges, returns and credits?

All of these facilities are available with our Gold Package as standard and bespoke if required.
The system will allow you to process credit payments; your returns staff will be able to scan an item back and the system will automatically credit the card.

Can I keep my customers updated about the status of their returns/exchanges and credits?

As part of the credit process customers can be emailed to confirm the credit has been processed. Exchanges are normally handled as 2 separate events i.e. the credit is one event and the exchange is then fed into the system as an order. An additional function of our system is the ability to add notes in 3 places: the customer record, the order record and the item record. For example, a previous address may be in the customer record, a note about the exchange in the order record and a note about supply issues in the item record.

Can my site include functionality for gift packaging and notes?

These facilities are available with our Gold Package as standard and bespoke if required.
Want to offer a gift wrapping service? The eCommerce solution assumes notes would be printed at despatch as part of the despatch process. Flags for extra-value options such as gift wrapping can be added to the despatch notes or we can set visual clues such as the font colour to indicate these tasks.

Can I add/change Delivery charges?

Yes, on both Silver and Gold as well as bespoke packages. You can specify rules for postage e.g. weight. Quantity, Destination (UK, Europe or Rest of the World, etc.) You’d be amazed at some of the pricing and postage matrixes we have built to handle clients’ requirements, there’s not been anything we can’t do so far and we’ve been going since 1999.

Can my site integrate with credit card clearance and transaction agencies?

These facilities are available with our Gold Package as standard and bespoke if required.
We build the system to effectively run itself, from adding payment authorisation codes into the customer order details on the database to letting the driver know where to find the house. As such, orders would not be sent to despatch until confirmation of a successful payment had been made. Naturally payments will sometimes fail. We would expect to liaise with these third parties where technical problems occur, but for day-to-day issues such as card failures we would not wish to be involved.

Can I secure myself against online fraud?

There are a number of ways to minimise online fraud. We explain who needs to do what and most importantly what you need to be aware of.

What happens if I want to offer a search facility for more than 8 criteria?

You will be looking at the bespoke option. Our process highlights all functionality required and builds them into the design and architecture.

Can I run special promotions with code inserts?

Yes, we can advise on various approaches to marketing.

Can you offer to build sites in different languages if I need to go global?

Yes although we don’t have translation skills in-house.
